History
Since 2002, AWC Networks, LLC has successfully created strategic, proactive solutions in risk management and utilizes its own technology systems and aggressive data management tools to deliver measurable results. With a focus on the areas of cost containment and medical management, AWC formed the National Epidural Network as a program to offer organizations a safe, reliable, and cost-effective solution to the performance of epidural steroid injections.
In 2023, we developed a network of hernia care providers to extend our services to employees in need of hernia treatment and repair.
In 2024, our growing network expanded again to include dental care and we are now known as The Specialty Care Network.

Meet Our Team
Thomas Lomax
CEO
W. Thomas Lomax has been the Chief Financial Officer of The Lomax Companies, LP, a family investment firm for 30+ years. He resides in Bucks County, PA, and serves on the Board of Penn Community Bank, the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce, and the Michener Museum. Historically, he served on the Boards of Morehouse School of Medicine for 10 years and Delaware Valley University for 6 years. Prior to that, Thomas served on the Governor’s Advisory Commission for African American Affairs in PA, was the Treasurer of Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis & Education, and coached youth soccer and basketball for Lenape Valley Sports Association. Thomas is an avid golfer and tennis player.
Silver Starkey
Operations Director
Silver Starkey is a seasoned professional with a strategic and analytical approach to Workers’ Compensation claims management. With extensive experience overseeing the complexities of claims processes, Silver has established herself as a leader in negotiating and resolving claims efficiently and effectively.
Her expertise extends to ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and optimizing operational efficiencies, which has resulted in significant cost savings and enhanced service delivery. Silver’s ability to lead credentialing initiatives and maintain strong relationships with providers and payers has been pivotal in their success.
Educationally grounded with relevant certifications, Silver brings a wealth of knowledge and years of hands-on experience to the field. She is known for her forward-thinking mindset and is accomplished in operational excellence, business development, and project management within the realm of workers’ compensation.
Silver’s professional philosophy is centered on fairness and integrity, ensuring that each claim is handled with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to the well-being of all parties involved. Her dedication to the industry is also evident through her active participation in community service, where they apply their skills to advocate for workers’ rights and safety.

Mia Taylor
Network Development Specialist
Mia Taylor is a California native and the Network Development Specialist for the Specialty Care Network, based in Atlanta Georgia. With over 20 years of experience in the medical field, Mia brings a wealth of expertise to her role, seamlessly integrating her knowledge into outreach efforts with providers nationwide. Her primary goal is to utilize her effective communication skills to establish an extensive network that caters to patients in need of pain management and general surgery services.
When she is not networking, her hobbies include trying out new sports and seeing the world. She also collects vintage furniture, clothing, and artifacts from all over the world which was heavily influenced by her upbringing in South Korea.
